Uptown Music Festival

The Uptown Music Festival was created to bring the Uptown District of Tampa Florida together to highlight the rich culture of the area through music. This one-day event will draw Tampa residents and surrounding cities to the Uptown District of Tampa Florida for a day of music and art to benefit the programs and services of the University Area CDC. With over 20,000 residents living in unincorporated Hillsborough County with major institutions such as the University of South Florida, Moffitt Cancer Center, Advent Health and Uptown (University Mall) the festival is sure to become one of the premier cultural events in the area.
This outdoor event held in the beautiful University Area Park 14013 N. 22nd Street, Tampa, FL 33613 is going to be a fun and relaxing evening for the whole family to enjoy. Limited Reserved seating available. General Admission is lawn seating, so bring your outdoor chairs, blankets and enjoy An Evening of Sax Therapy.
2019 Headlining Artists
B.K. Jackson– Tampa native, International saxophonist and former member of Prince’s New Power Generation (NPG) Hornz. Currently touring as part of Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue Band. Has recently performed with Usher and recorded with Bruno Mars.
Adrian Crutchfield– Neo-soul International saxophonist and former member of Prince’s New Power Generation (NPG) Hornz. Adrian has also toured with Prince, Lionel Richie, Bette Midler and Cee Lo Green.
Jackiem Joyner– International saxophonist, composer, producer and recent author of a Sci-Fi novel. In addition to his contemporary jazz solo career, Jackiem has tour with such notable artists as Keiko Matsui and Marcus Johnson and has also performed as a member of The Sax Pack.
Tim George– Music Director- one of the most sought after bass players in the contemporary jazz industry. Tim has performed alongside some of the biggest names in contemporary jazz to include Richard Elliott, Rick Braun, Warren Hill and The Sax Pack.
Bryan Thompson– A “Rising Star” in the contemporary jazz industry Bryan is a 21 yr old saxophone and piano prodigy. Bryan has had the opportunity to share the stage with such contemporary jazz icons as Brian Culbertson, Najee, Kirk Whalum and Lalah Hathaway.
Children 12 and under admitted free in General Admission with a paid adult admission.
