The Innovation Gathering is Tampa !p’s signature annual event– now in its 5th year – created to highlight innovation in the area and accomplishments toward the growth of the innovation district. This year’s “Uptown United” theme highlights the unprecedented collaboration between Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa, the state of Florida, and the private sector to leverage the strengths of Uptown for the purpose of driving Florida’s innovation economy and creating high-wage jobs.

The first hour of the event (5:15 – 6:15) features the Taste of Uptown with small bites from the area’s hottest eateries and networking while several of the area’s most innovative start-ups and tech companies showcase their work.

The program runs from 6:15 – 7:30 and includes remarks from Tampa !p Board Chairman, Chris Bowen (Chief Development Strategist for RD Management – owners of the University Mall property), Mayor Jane Castor, Hillsborough County Commission Chairman Lesley Miller, Jr., USF President Steve Currall, and the Community Impact Awards presentation.
