Uptown Chamber of Commerce’s new logo and tag line

The former Greater Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce formally announced its renaming to the Uptown Chamber of Commerce and unveiled a new logo, web site address, and social media handles and tags at the organization’s December 18th luncheon. Uptown Chamber President & CEO Miranda Hilton explained the reasons behind the change to more than 50 attendees.

“Though our name is changing, our efforts are not. 56 years ago our chamber made a commitment to focus on transformative work that impacts the greater community. At no other time have we been more prepared to take this bold step than now. More than ever, we are seeing business, health care, education, tourism, and community working collaboratively across invisible borders to create a regional brand that can compete in today’s economy. We are seizing the opportunity. In a globally connected economy status quo is no longer good enough. Changing our name positions us in better recruiting new businesses and people to locate to the Uptown district. That means more jobs and a vibrant economy for all. Our goal is to make our region a better place to live, work, and play.”

With more than 70% of its membership already based outside Temple Terrace’s city limits, the chamber has long acted as a regional organization based in Temple Terrace and its new tagline, “connecting Temple Terrace, Tampa & Hillsborough County,” reinforces its Temple Terrace roots and regional position. The chamber’s new web site URL is www.UptownChamber.org and supporters are encouraged to follow the Uptown Chamber on Twitter @UTChamber, Instagram @UTChamber, and Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/UTChamber and use #UptownChamber, #WeAreUptown, #WeAreTheChamber, and #UCOC to engage and talk about the chamber.

“We think regionally, but act locally and are inspired by what our future holds,” added Hilton.
